I first bought a doggie backpack to take my dog on bike rides. My dog didn’t like it at all. She couldn’t see and it was hot.
I got this front basket and it’s perfect for small dogs. She is only a 6lbs dog but you can see there is plenty of room for a slightly bigger dog.
It took 3 minutes to install. The mounting is secure and is made to prevent the mounting from rotating. It’s easy to take the basket on and off.

This bike carrier bag works well for short rides to the park. Our small dog fits comfortably and the design is secure. But for longer trips, it's not very comfortable for the pet. Also the ventilation could be better. Okay for occasional use but not daily.

We have a shih poo dog, medium size, and weighs 10 lbs. He fits well and we can even put some stuff on it. We do it the other way around for our pet's safety since he gets overwhelmed. His safety is our priority. So it would depend on how you want to place the basket either on the front or behind it.
I bought this to take my Ferret to the park and things, works for her but the size of it is only enough for maybe a chihuaha...maybe. about the same size as a lunch box.

We bought this basket for my son's bike so he could do quick grocery runs for us. It installed easily on his bike, and he is able to use it independently installing and removing it. It's very sturdy. Usually when he goes to the grocery, he's picking up a half gallon of milk and other canned or bottle fruits and drinks that he likes. A nice added feature is the draw string top to secure the items.
The only reason I dinged a star is because there's no way you're fitting a golden retriever puppy in this basket. It's a great basket, no need to oversell it or sell empty promises. It is exactly what we were looking for and works well.
