It is a backpack that happens to fold outward in the back to give the trapped critter more space. I say critter because just as easily it holding a cat, it could be a ferret or small creature of the like. Our cat is not a custom to carriers but we noticed his reverent desire to be outside. Since we live in an apt, that is not an option. We got a harness and leash but he sometimes just goes deadweight in those things so off to Amaozn I went to search for another option. I was thrilled and amused to have found this. It's a backpack that has a chest strap to adjust to your comfort level and weight of the cat. Ours is a whooping 10lb beast that looks identical to Toothless the dragon from HTTYD. Once in the carrier, he blended in with the black background so we'll, I could only tell where his head was by the stark contrast of his yellow eyes. He was not a fan of the closed up space and even more apprehensive once the back was zippered down for his exploring purposes. The case provides holes along the bottom and top of the carrier so air can easily come and go in there. No worries there about the cuddle pot suffocating. Of course, like many cats, it'll take a little bit to get him use to the idea and warm to it but we have left it out in his area open so he can get use to the sight and comfort of it. It will be fun to see how this plays outs on our first outing!
THIS BAG IS CHEAP!! My cat could open it! Same day i bought the cat carrier i needed to travel by plane with my cat. I was at the ticket counter paying for my cat at the airport and he applied pressure from inside bag and the zipper popped all the way open. The zipper came off track and my cat almost got loose in the airport. I would have lost him forever if i didnt pounce on the bag and strangers helped me get the zipper on track. DO NOT BUY. It also does not fold out to its full shape. It has a huge dent in it from how it was packed
This is a great backpack. it's well made and looks good. Our cat has plenty of space and it's actually worked well for vet visits.
