Bluetooth Pet Tracker: Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 for Lost Pets
That heart-stopping moment when your dog bolts out the front door or your cat doesn’t come home at dusk — every pet parent knows the panic. The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 Bluetooth Tracker — Pet, Keys & Bag Finder is a compact, rugged solution that turns your phone into a pet-finding lifeline. This bluetooth pet tracker clips onto any collar or harness, so you can locate your furry family member in seconds, not hours. Over 10,000+ US pet parents trust PawVortex to keep their animals safe, and this little tag has become a favorite for good reason.
What Makes This Bluetooth Pet Tracker Different
Last summer, my neighbor’s husky, Koda, squeezed through a gap in the fence during a thunderstorm. Within three minutes of realizing he was gone, she opened the SmartThings Find app on her Samsung phone and saw his last known location — two blocks away, near the park. The compass view guided her straight to him, mud and all, thanks to the IP67-rated tag still beeping away on his collar. That’s the real-world difference of a pet finder that doesn’t rely on cellular signals or monthly fees.
What sets the SmartTag2 apart is its insane 500-day battery life — one of the longest-lasting trackers on the market. The tag measures 28.8 x 52.4 x 12.2 mm and weighs just 13.4 grams, so even a 5-pound cat won’t notice it. The built-in keyring hole accepts any standard collar strap or split ring, and the IP67 rating means it survives full submersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. No charging, no removing for baths — just clip and forget.
PawVortex customers voted this the #1 rated bluetooth pet tracker for Android users in 2025, and local veterinarians recommend it for anxious pets who bolt during fireworks or storms. Unlike GPS trackers that need constant charging and cellular plans, this tag leverages Samsung’s massive SmartThings Find network — millions of Android devices anonymously helping each other locate lost pets. It’s a smarter, lighter, and more affordable way to sleep soundly.
Key Features
- 500-Day Battery Life: One CR2032 cell keeps this tracker running for over a year and a half. No weekly charging, no dead tag when you need it most.
- IP67 Water & Dust Resistance: Rain, mud, puddles, even a dropped tag in the water bowl — it shrugs off everything your pet explores.
- Compass View Navigation: When you’re close, the app shows a directional arrow and distance in feet. Walk in circles? Not anymore.
- Audible Ring: Tap “ring” in the app and the tag emits a 90dB tone. Perfect for finding a tag buried under couch cushions or in tall grass.
- SmartThings Find Network: Out of Bluetooth range? The tag pings anonymously off nearby Samsung Galaxy devices and relays its location to you. This bluetooth dog tracker works across cities, not just rooms.
- IoT Automation Integration: Set routines like turning on porch lights when you arrive home with your pet, or sending a phone alert if you leave the house without the tag.
- Android 11+ Compatibility: Works flawlessly with Samsung Galaxy and any Android phone running version 11 or later. (Not compatible with iPhones.)
The SmartThings Find network is the game-changer your pet deserves. Unlike basic Bluetooth trackers that only work within 30 feet, the SmartTag2 piggybacks on hundreds of millions of Galaxy phones, tablets, and watches worldwide. When your adventurous cat wanders three houses down, a neighbor’s Samsung device anonymously picks up the tag’s signal and updates its location in your app — no monthly subscription, no data plan. For pet parents in busy neighborhoods or apartment complexes, this turns a lost pet scenario from a frantic door-knocking ordeal into a calm, targeted search.
Who This Is For
This bluetooth pet tracker is built for the dog mom whose Labrador loves bolting after squirrels, the cat dad with a stealthy indoor escape artist, and the multi-pet household where one clumsy Great Dane can knock a wallet under the car seat. It’s ideal for pets of any size — from a 6-pound Yorkie to a 120-pound Shepherd — as long as they wear a collar or harness. Busy professionals who can’t answer their phone every minute will love the peace of mind, and frequent travellers will appreciate attaching one to luggage while another tags the cat carrier.
Learn more about reducing separation anxiety in our guide on pet mental health — because knowing your pet’s location is the first step, but understanding their stress triggers is the next. The SmartTag2 pairs beautifully with calming diffusers and treat puzzles, giving you a complete toolkit for a relaxed, safe companion.

The compass view is brilliant for finding my dog in the woods. Best purchase this year.
Compared to other options we've tried, I've noticed that IoT automation integration set routines (e.g., porch lights on arrival, phone alert if you leave without the tag). Found my cat under a neighbor's porch in under 10 minutes the compass view walked me right to her. I love that IP67 water and dust resistance survives rain, mud, puddles, and submersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. My pet seems to enjoy this during relaxation time. It's rare to find a product that works this well.
It survived my dog's swim in the creek still working perfectly. 500 days and I haven't thought about the battery once. I particularly like that IoT automation integration set routines (e.g., porch lights on arrival, phone alert if you leave without the tag). My pet seems to enjoy this during playtime. I've already recommended this to friends with pets.
