These do their job. They cut well and are very sturdy. The light is a nice addition but its not always practical. The guard is also nice but it pops off way too easily. These are also very large compared to standard clippers. So trimming nails on small phase paws is a little more clumsy than the smaller clippers. But all in all, they do their main purpose.

I have struggled cutting his nails because I have never had a cat with white fut on their paws and I cannot see his clear nails. It's caused lots of problems for both of us. This was helpful but not perfect. The light is bright and helps me to see his nails which makes the process MUCH smoother. However, the light would not stay on. I tried all sorts of things and no matter what, I had to go through turning it off and back on again and shaking the clippers each time I used them. The nail shield is a great idea but it doesn't stay in place and just falls off. I ended up taking it all the way off and not using it. The clippers have a nice feel and the spring action works well to cut the nails. I like that it has a button to hold them closed for storage. I tried the nail file, but as expected, it didn't go over well with my kitty. So, I'm giving it 4 stars. The cutting works well. The light helps when it works. And, my cat didn't fight me when I cut his nails with this clipper. So, in that sense, it mostly worked for me.
I was really eager to try these clippers because, honestly, trimming my dog’s nails had become a full-blown operation. With my usual squeeze-style clippers, I needed my glasses, a headlamp, and all my patience just to see what I was doing. I even have a grinder with a built-in light, but the sound and vibration are a no-go—my dog panics. She’s smart too; the moment she sees me with the glasses or headlamp, she’s already on edge, and when she sees me bend and spotlight toward her back, the anxiety spikes.
These clippers changed everything. They’re marketed for small pets, but my 55-pound dog has average-sized nails, and they handled them perfectly. Her nails are black, so I can’t see the quick, but the built-in LED light shines directly on the nail, making it easy to aim and trim quickly. I managed to clip three nails before she even caught on—and with some sweet talk, I finished one paw and even snuck in another nail on a separate foot. That’s a win for DIY nail clipping on my own dog.
They’re extra sharp with zero resistance, which is critical when you’ve only got seconds before a dog decides she’s done. While she tolerates most grooming, nail clipping is the one thing she can’t stand. Being able to work faster and more precisely has made it way less stressful for both of us.
There’s a lot to like about these nail trimmers. They have a safety lock to keep them closed when not in use, there’s also a little shield on top so that you don’t get hit in a eye with a piece of your beloved pet’s toenail when you clip them. (Note: it is removable if you don’t like it)
There’s also a built in light! This is one of those things I didn’t know I needed until I had it. And it won’t shine in your pets eyes either. The light has an on off switch, so you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to.
They are a little bit bulky, that is the only downside I can see to these. Other than that they are pretty perfect.
These are great! The light comes in very handy! Made of sturdy good quality Materials! The only reason for 4 stars is that the little clear plastic part will not stay on it falls off any time it’s bumped. But overall a great product.
