I would not recommend buying this. I bought it for our cats and thought that I would love it as much as I love the version of this for water, however the food gets stuck and does not allow gravity to push it forward. The bottom portion should be at a higher angle.
It actually works! So many gravity feeders I’ve had before always get food stuck and won’t fill the bowl. I haven’t had a single problem with this one. Also stays way cleaner than completely plastic bowls.

Easy to fill and keep our cats' feeding station clean.
This is supposed to be a gravity feeder but there is no slant so the food doesn't move to the bowl. Not as advertised at all.
The actual bowl that holds the food is so small that she cannot easily eat from it! Therefore I’ve had to remove the kibble holder from the bowl…that defeats the whole purpose of why I bought it! I am very disappointed in this automatic feeder.
My husband and I are full time worker and enjoy a weekend getaway every now and then. This feeder allows us to leave our cat alone during the day and know that she can nibble away. It was also a very reasonable price. We highly recommend this cat feeder even if you are home all day.

The food tray doesn’t refill on its own with the help of gravity. Unless your cat figures out that they can move the food, you have manually move the food into the tray. I even tried to tilt the feeder but nothing changed. I bought it because I was going to be out of town and I wanted to ensure that my cat had plenty of food. I ended up taking the food out of the device and putting it in a big bowl as I always have. I’m a bit disappointed.
This product holds the cat food well and is easy to refill. It does have a problem dropping the food from the filling tank into the bowl. I need to use my fingers to assist this, and the reason I gave it 4 stars.
Why can't a manufacturer make a auto filling dry cat food system that works well. I have bought three of these type feeders and have to say this is the best. But I do not like that the dry food does not slide down well enough. The sliding part of the bottom tray needs to be steeper so food slides down with a bit more force to always fill the bottom food try. I bought this so if I am away for a week to two weeks I could feel confident that my cat has food. With this system I or my cat, has to paw at the food so more slides down. If I am away for an extended time I hope my cat figures out how to paw at the food opening so more slides down.
I have two of these, one small and one medium. The medium one works great with the filter, the small one doesn't. I took the filter out and it works ok.

It doesn't serve its purpose for me. The food doesn't flow out into the bowl on its own. When the bowl is empty, the food won't flow into the bowl until you shake the top part to allow the hole to clear. Needs a little more space and tilt to allow the food to drop into bowl on its own.

Quality is severely lacking, the pieces do not fit together well at the base, I can't trust this thing to stay together once it has the weight of a full load of food. Returning and going with another brand.
Perfect for my new cat
We went from one cat to four overnight. We feed wet a couple times a day and free feed dry. Once everyone had a clean bill of health and were old enough to integrate, I bought a pair of these.
It is easily assembled. I love that the bowl at the bottom is removable, easily cleaned metal - it seems more hygienic for them. Food drops down without much issue on its own, but occasionally benefits from a little shake at least for smaller kibble, because it can catch on an interior lip.
For four cats, I'm refilling one every two weeks with small-ish kibble (Purina One Kitten).
Note - this is not a water dispenser and I did not test for that. Note that the medium is not a small format feeder - its a small kibble silo! Measure height, width, and depth accordingly if it will be under something or sit on something.
For the cost, it's a great value for our household - It makes our lives easy, they feel secure in that they always have access to food, and I can clean it thoroughly!
